... Pascal is only 2 years older than C ...

wikipedia:

Quote:
Pascal is an influential imperative and procedural programming language, developed in 1970 by Niklaus Wirth as a small and efficient language intended to encourage good programming practices using so called structured programming and data structuring. A derivative known as Object Pascal was designed for object oriented programming.

Quote:
C is a general-purpose, block structured, procedural, imperative computer programming language developed in 1972 by Dennis Ritchie at the Bell Telephone Laboratories for use with the Unix operating system.[2] It has since spread to many other platforms. Although C was designed as a system implementation language,[3][4] it is also widely used for applications. C has also greatly influenced many other popular languages,[5] especially C++, which was originally designed as an extension to C.

If you do decide to learn C++, I will warn you that C++ is not as easy as visual basic. In fact I find it very confusing, but I can still get most of it to work.
