although this does not particularly involve computers I thought it would be the best place to ask this question..
well I have a xbox 360 with xbox live.. it is connected to my router and everything is ok. But I sometimes have to leave to go to another house. And i want to bring my xbox along. The only problem is that the other house has cable as their isp. The problem is that there is no router. and the modem has 2 parts that have to connect to the computer. a normal Ethernet cable and a usb. ( I have no idea why it requires a usb) so I was wondering if i would have to go buy a router so i can connect my xbox, or I could connect it straight to my xbox360. since the 360 has 2 usb ports I think it might work..
and if you could find a router that can work with this particular modem it would be great.

EDIT: when I was ATTEMPTING to write this post I actully found it very hard to explain the problem. so feel free to ask questions about my post. I started confusing myself as I was writing this.

So you want to know if plugging the modem they have into your xbox 360's usb and ethernet ports will work?

I think I sort of get you. Try unplugging the main internet cable from the modem and plugging it into your Xbox.
So its between internet on your computer or Xbox live on your 360. Can't have both running at the same time.

Please note, above the Ethernet port in the back of a 360 there's another USB port. I'll assume it's for what you're talking about.

I'm pretty sure you're supposed to only use either the USB or the Ethernet cable, so, try and see if you can put the Ethernet cable in one of the machines and the USB in the other.

can't you just unplug whatever is plugged into the computer and put it into your xbox and see if it works?

Also, before you even think about it, Blu Ray is not a plus.

Even if it was, coming april, there will be a blu ray player attachment for the 360.

I'm not sure what you're asking. If you just want to plug the xbox into the modem, just use a normal ethernet patch cable and you're good. If you want to plug in both the xbox and a computer, one on USB and one on ethernet, that won't work. I've only ever seen one modem that will assign multiple IP's and chances are your friend's won't.

PS3 has Motion for the flying game Warhawk.Like a Pii. It has Warhawk.The conroler has a better feel.I didn't see a Ps3 with an OS on it like Linux.PS3 has a CAMERA! Wireless bluetooth mic,Did i mention warhawk?

The PS3 is better. I can access the internet from a giant plasma TV. Not to mention no lag, looks better (Admit it Madman) , controllers doesn use batteries, and you don't need to pay for an account that has access to PS3 online.
