u find ur system restore in start programs
i have pc help tools
and in it i click system restore
this is what it does
it lets you choose to go back to a earlier date to where u think there was no problem like a few days a go and deletes anything that ever happened the days in front of that
if that doesnt make sense feel free to tell me what u need help on

It's in Start > All programs > Accessories > System tools > System Restore.
System restore: Restores the settings to an earlier date. No files are deleted!

its because my internet wont work on the new computer i got.
it works on all other computers
the new computer internet used to work for few or couple weeks now it suddenly doesn't. It says it cant obtain the IP ADDRESS.
I tried..
restarting the cable box.
disable and enable it again
unplug internet cord and plug it into another.
tried restarting computer.
use the cmd method.

No files will be lost during a restore...it does settings.
Set a restore point, download a file, restore, check for file. It'll still be there.

| Quote: | System Restore won't delete any of your letters, e-mails, or other data files, thank goodness. The files you created yesterday will still be there, even if you use a Restore Point from last month.
Since System Restore only deals with Windows XP's settings, it only helps with Windows XP itself. It can't help you locate deleted e-mails or recover deleted files that are no longer in the Recycle Bin. |

I had throught it deleted files also, but I noticed when I used it, that it didn't.

it even says that it doesn't delete files, it just might move them around to where they may have been at a certain date. if you don't want certain files touched you can put it in the my documents folder or one of the other folders where files aren't tampered with during system restore.
