hey guys so you see i have a 442MB Ram,70GB HDD,intel(R)Pentium 4 3.0ghz with no video card...Windows Vista

ya i know its bad...because im addict in playing games

and i couldnt play some other games because i dont have vid card and have low memory...and the 3D accelerator thing..

can you please give me some tips of what to buy to upgrade my PC?
i really want a good PC...not too expensive please...ok guys thanks Very Happy

You definitely want a video card.. You cant play games like Call of Duty 4 or new releases. You can however run simple games like Age of Mythology (Awesome) and other games similar to that one. I don't know how it would handle Warcraft or Crysis. Either your computer would explode or melt. Definitely for Crysis anyways. Here are the system requirements for WoW. I think you *might* be able to run it with lag.. Lots of it.

It depends what kind of game you want to play. If it's some basic 2d game like Maple Story or whatever you don't need one. But if it's like the newer First Person Shooter games like Crysis, yes you do need one to play. Just get the Crucial Ballistix and the 8600GT someone up there recommended, it should be a very good upgrade from what you currently have. That is if your motherboard uses PCI-E and DDR2.

1. find out what kind of ram your computer uses either ddr or ddr2.
2. find out the gfx slot on your mobo PCI Express or AGP

if the ram is ddr i recommend saving up for a whole new machine buy the parts and build your self, ddr ram is still pretty expensive and ddr2 has been going down so fast you could get 1gb ddr2 for like £18 im from uk whereas 512 ddr would cost around the same price £18.

if your gfx slot is agp or pci-e make sure to get the speed of the slot and buy a card depending on that, there is no point buying 16x gfx card for a 4x slot then it would only run at 4x thats just a waste of money.

if it is agp under 12x i recommend a new board with pci-e as it is much faster and cheaper, however is it is agp 12x just buy an agp card look around for the cheap ones and check their performance statistics.

if you decide to save for a new mobo get a dual core ready board and a dual core cpu.

you shouldnt need to reformat you computer to get the other hard drive working you just need to partition it and format it, this is possable on the os you need to go into the disk management there will be a gray hard drive you just right click that and create the partition and format it do quick format its much faster.

you could also install partition magic and do it with that program i dont actually know how to use the disk management in vista as i dont have it and not thinking of getting it for a while.

right click my computer, and click manage, then press disk management.
