oh and is my procesor just checking
Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.06GHz Model 4
oh and my info was wrong on the comp my ram is actually DDR PC2-5200

That memory type probably isn't compatible with your motherboard then.
Thus why the 1GB stick didn't work.
Your CPU will last you for 2 or 3 months, just don't multitask and it will be fine.

Get a better ram maybe 1.5gb of ram around 60$+ it costs

well I would say $1200 is enough, but if you are going for gaming I would suggest you wait until the 9 series comes out for graphics. So you could either get the 8800GT for way cheaper, or get the newer chip for about double the price, its up to you. But i would custom build the comp. So it is just right for you.
i got a new Dell desktop for about $700 (this is including the 19" monitor with 2ms response time) And it has done much more than i expected it to do with the graphics it has. Although it still can not play crisis. But that will change when i get the 8800GT. I could finally put the 3 gigs of ram to the test.
EDIT: If I sound like a dumbass in this post, it is because it is late and I have been out of it for the past week. so just ignore the bad spelling/dumbass comments i might edit the post later...

yeh i guess so but yeh i dont need a screen or keyboard /mouse
brings down the cost i guess
i dont think il be doin too serois gamin so ill probably get 8800 cause new one too expensive

| DDR PC2-5200...It should be DDR2. I never seen a DDR Stick with 667mhz speed. So if it's DDR2, Buy.com has 2 GB Crucial Ballistix for 34.99 or 39.99 after Rebate. I recommend that, If I didn't buy 4 gigs of ram during black friday, I'd buy them. |
