well anywayz, that computer is like ancient! lol, even my old piece of shit is better than that! and it still is horrible and really slow...

My advice! stop being stuck in the 1990's(in terms of computer speeds)

Sell one of your condos, and buy a computer WITH ALOTTTTA RAM!!!!

RAM IS MOST IMPORTANT, its what I've realized really speeds up the computer a ton! I wouldn't settle for anything less that 4GB RAM

then processor is next in importance, but not as much so as ram, as long as its a new processor above 2 GHz youll be fine...(can't buy a new computer with any less than that anyway these days)

then hard drive space, get the most you can!

then usually the default graphics card will do just fine, unless u can afford to upgrade that too Wink

Those are the important things needed for a fast computer... once you go 4 gig you never go back Razz

some of the ram is reserved so it only shows 3.62

4gb is still overkill in 95% of cases, granted it's so cheap now I'd probably do it anyway, but it's no in way a necessity.

GHZ aren't really an accurate way of measurement now, 2ghz recent intel chip is going to stomp a 2ghz amd64, etc. Look at benchmarks to decide rather than GHZ.

All very true.

RAM is not the most important (at least in terms of gaming), comparing a computer with:

Intel Core 2 processor
1GB RAM
8800GT
vs.
Pentium 4
4GB RAM
8600GTS

The first model will still win in most situations.

Processor speed on its own does not win in this case. Now that the world needs faster computers, and the NetBurst architecture can't go any further because of hitting temperature barriers, we begin to look at multiple cores as a viable solution. A cheap 1.8 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo E4300 will easily beat a 3.8 GHz Pentium 4. For dual cores, multiply the processor speed by 2 and add some more performance because of more advanced SSE instructions, L2 cache, and Core micro architecture.

Hard drive space is important, but so is the speed of the drive. 7200RPM right now is the "standard".

Default graphics card usually means integrated or a cheap 8400GS. They do fine in everything except for gaming, 3D modeling, and videos editing.

The reason why it shows 3.62 GB is because you have a 32-bit OS. Or you might have a graphics card that uses 768MB of memory.
