|

I have a Toshiba Satellite pro l40 laptop, and it has the following:
Processor- Intel(R) Celeron(R) 440@ 1.86GHz 1.86 GHz
Graphics- Mobile Intel(R) 945GM/GU Express Chipset Family
I would like to upgrade both of these, I'm not sure what to though, I would like to be able to run PC games like Call Of Duty 4, at good graphics smoothly, I'm going to get 2GB ram soon, so that should improve the speed.
What processor or graphics card should i get?
I'm English so the currency will have to be pounds, I don't have to much money, so a good price if you can please.
All help appreciated, thanks in advance.

The Toshiba Satellite pro l40 is a laptop, right?
I think it is, and if it is, I do not think you can change the CPU. IIRC the CPU's are generally soldered into the Mother Board.
The Graphics card should be easier though. I would assume that it is in a PCI/VGA slot on the Mother Board, and that you could disconnect it and replace it with another graphics card.

I was trying to say, but my internet messed up while I was editing my post.
I was going to say that I don't know any English Retailers, and that I don't know what laptops have for connection or what video cards your mother board would support.
I'm sure some other people on here know though.

| Your best bet for a laptop to play CoD4 on is a whole new machine. That Celeron won't do good, and you'll have to check if there is a slot for the graphics card, sometimes integrated video cards' motherboards don't have PCIe slots on them.

One other thing that I thought about with your laptop.
Its an integrated Graphics card, which I think means it uses part of your system's ram to run, and its a part of the mother board. Which would mean that you can't even replace your graphics card with a new one.
Some one correct me if I am wrong though, because I would like to know that for sure.
