sometimes when i save a file or make a .exe or dl a file its not an extension just says File Beside , so i have to add the extension say the file was Banana.jpg it would only come out as banana so i would have to add the .jpg, what's wrong?

Open a folder, click on tools, folder options, then click on view, and uncheck 'Hide extensions for known file types'
You just have that on, so it won't show the file type.

Without adding the .jpg, can you open the file? Try it on a picture, let us know.

| Any files you've named recently likely lost their file extension due to you not adding the extension when it was needed. You'll have to untick the box saviorfamily directed you to, add .jpg to the end of all the pictures that need it, then tick the box again.
