Yes overclocking a laptop is a very bad idea, every laptop I've seen can barely handle the heat output at stock speeds. Remember that voltage increases cause exponential increases in power consumption so just think what that would do to your battery life...
Which is why I want to write down my current cpu settings and then underclock it down from 2.93 to 2.2 or 2.0 which ever seems more stable, so that my laptop has a higher battery. My main purpose for wanting to do that is because I'd be able to switch the CPU back to normal when I need something demanding, but when I need battery, I can under clock it and just use stuff like Word and stuff.
