Well i have been told that if a game/program has a virus and all you do is run it rather then saveing it to your hardrive it won't give you this virus... Is this true or either way you get the virus? _________________

| Probably either way becuase if you still run it it will be n your computer, yes? So what i suggest is that downloading any file (even those you do not think will have viuses) run a virus scan (computer hardrive and intermet succurity scans should so it. [the internet succurity one isnt really as needed as the hardrive scan]). Thats what i do anyway. If im wrong, feel free to correct. |

Run just stores the file temporarily while you run it, then deletes it after it's closed.
Save does just what it sounds like, saves the file permanently to the hard drive.
Simple enough?
Either way the file is being executed so it's just as dangerous either way as far as malware is concerned. |

referr to the above post.
Both ways could very eaisly give you a virus...
Best bet is to scan it with your best AV if you're concerned
Though most good AVs will alert you any time it detects a running virus or some other malware _________________

No sir mate it stores it on your drive also, in the temp folder.
Also to add to this when you run things from winrar it does the same thing. |

Yes, but isn't it deleted from the temp folder after it's closed? |

Ok let me explain if you hit run it still executes the virus still giving it to you but you hit save and save it on your disk and it will remain dormant unless you execute it. _________________

THANKS!
But i thought that as soon as you turn off your computer your ramm gets deleted... so what if right after you run a program you shut-off your computer does the virus still attack your hard-drive while its off? Or only when its on? _________________
