| Well i need help. I'm building a new computer and i want it to be a good gaming computer. I like Windows XP better but all the new games are coming out for Vista i was wondering should i get vista.

Nah, I would just stick with xp dude. I'm pretty sure most of the games coming out work with both, so no worries 
|

Wrong.
DirectX 10 only works on Vista, not XP, that is why they will be using Vista for most games.
Although they will probably work with DX9 still.

Wrong.

Shhhh....
Yeah, about halfway into that I realized they would probably be similar to Crysis...
But some still won't operate on XP without cracking them!
Like Halo 2.

| XP. DX10 sucks atm, DX10 is being worked on for XP, and any Vista exclusive can be cracked to run on XP.

Althougth in Vista, you can run programs with Compability Settings, so as if you were and earlier version (you can't however run as XP or XP SP1, only XP SP2)
I recommend to have a dual boot if you realy want to use DX10, but you should use XP until Vista's SP1 (coming soon, now in beta testing)

Well, since you're getting yourself a new rig, I would recommend Vista. Don't waste anymore money to get XP then Vista later.
