your memory isn't only your RAM.

i for example have 2GB of ram, but my memory is 4GB.

windows uses reserved harddrive as extra RAM in case all the RAM is being used. that's called virtual memory

except for unwanted processes, i dont see whats wrong with thread starter's comp?

and the commit charge is not ur ram, i think its ur L2 or virtual memory, not quite sure about it. google "commit charge".

Commit Charge is your physical memory. You see that "Physical Memory" has replaced "Commit Charge" in Windows Vista.

Well, thanks fro the info, i was just wondering since my dads computer pent 4 he got like 3-4 years ago ( he hasnt reformatted once ) has 512 mb of ram and he plays like no games.. and its slow as hell when he tries to open a word document or internet explorer..

His processes are like 44..

CPU usage is like 5%..

Memory usage is like 20%

its weird, older your computer, slower it gets

It's not bad, can sometimes mean you are infected with a virus though.

and this thread was 7 days old, try not to bump again.
