Well i used a bruteforcer and now i know the pass of a few protected wifi nets.
Should i use them? i dont ask this for morality only, i mean that cuz people do this to steal private data. I would only use their wifi conexion with my IP hidden to play games or so.
What do u guys think about it?

i just want some opinions no flames. ty.

Absolutely. If they put a password and you managed to get hold of it, you must go on and use it. Its their own fault for not protecting it properly and, anyway, its not like you're going to do anything illegal using it (or are you? lol), right?

EDIT: Thinking about in more detail... What bruteforcer did you use? Haha, I'm sorry for being so lazy, but its a long time since I've needed to break through wifi passwords, and so I'm not very updated on the topic. I'd appreciate it if you did tell me Wink

If you did manage to get to the stage where you bruteforced into a wireless network (which is a stupid thing to do anyway), you wouldn't be doubting whether using or not using the WEP keys.... Just in case I'm wrong, yeah, use the dang keys since you have them. Most they can do is find out your MAC address (in router firmware) and eventually call the cops on you.

Leads me to my question; don't you have internet at your house? Also, I'd like to know how long this bruteforcing of you took... I have my doubts about the situation. o_O

Btw, a fun thing to do is to try and go into their firmware (usually 192.168.1.1 using admin/admin to login, since these are default settings) and changing the settings around a little.. such as only allowing your MAC address onto the network, lawl.

Lol? He said he BRUTEFORCED into the network, meaning they did have protection on it, and cracking the protection is illegal. =3

I know, and I understand that I did not choose my words wisely. By having said "If you have managed to get hold of it", I was fully aware that he had bruteforced into the network, but I meant it in the sense that If he had acutally gone through all the bother of doing so then they might as well use it. Also, by saying "doing something illegal", I was refering to what he might do after having gained access to the network. I said this because it is actually quite surprising the number of people who don't actually care if you are within their network and using their internet as far as you don't do anything ELSE which is illegal apart from bruteforcing your way in.
Anyway, that is what I intended to mean. Again, my apologies for my useless choice of words Wink

If you want to play games or whatever fine, just don't do anything that could be traced back to your name like checking your email etc.

Wow I just got a new router and I forgot about that.

Going to fix now, hehe. =]

And netgears is RouterLogin.net once they have it set up.

Zelda.
Bruteforcing usually takes a long-ass time to find the right password.
Just try 'admin', 'administator', 'password', 'pass', 'default', if those don't work then don't try anything else, you would have a shitty connection to it anyhow.

Just ask your neighbour if you could use their connection for your wii
God Rolling Eyes
I did and they said sure, they had nothing to lose

Haha, do it.

Just don't do anything stupid.

But, if your parents are to poor for internet,
I'm sure if you ask they will just let you use it.

It's hard to trace available connections to a persons house.

Just go door to door;

"Hi, is your network name <name of network>?"

Although I am quite a fan of anything which is hacking related, I must admit that asking is probably the best option. I mean, as I said before, not many people actually care about someone else using their wifi unless you are up to something illegal (which is usually not the case), especially if you DID ask for their permission...
Oh, and just to let you know, cops are not usually a problem in wifi stealing for 2 reasons:

1) Your neighbors will probably not even find out. Most people don't even keep track of their wifi usage.
2) Even if they do notice, I'd be surprised if they were actually able to summon the effort of looking for the right house and going there to tell you off, let alone call the cops.

Of course, I must clarify that I live in Spain. Although the legal side of it is the same everywhere (roughly), the neighbors or police could react differently, so if your neighbors are not lazy and stupid like most people when refering to wifi, or the police actually prosecute you, I'm sorry for giving you the wrong advice. lol
