YES!!
I had the same virus, got it from a fake Windows Genuine Advantage crack.
You MUST get rid of every .exe/.ocx/.dll file. There's no way to recover them, and they WILL reinfect your PC even if they haven't been opened.
Like Irwin said in IRC, only save pictures/videos/songs/text files/etc.
Any programs you have are gone. |

Really? because I haven't noticed any other infections after I reformatted and I still had some infected files on my D Partition. But I already disinfected them with KAV. Most of my games on that partition corrupted though. |

you can get infected even just opening zip files if it has a dropper in it,
opened a zip a while back but my set up denied the dropper access to my system 32 folder,
lucky for me cos the antivirus did not kick in till too late before I caught it.

Once you've cleaned it up make sure to protect yourself with only the best at all times!
use zonealarm firewall [bought version]
and ontop of your kaspersky av have a few others such as rogueremover PRO, AVG, spybot search & destroy, hijackthis and of course ccleaner!
[BUT DONT HAVE THEM ALL RUNNING AT ONCE FFS, just leave your kaspersky and firewall running, and every month or so completely scan your computer with each av. they'll each find different types of viruses, spyware, malicious trojans etc.]

You spelled "up" wrong. And viruses don't have anything to do with your CPU. Most viruses cannot do any harm to your hardware, other than maybe putting your cpu on full load. |
