It wont even start up i need help plz. u think i messed it up by fucking with the boot.ini file or whatever its called. The noexecute=AlywaysOff Crap. I did a little something and now the computer wont even start up! it said my system32 file is missing and correupted. every time i restart the comp i get a black screen with it. FUCK! Help please.! anyone!.

Its a Dell Windows XP Pentium 4.

Well... You shouldn't supposed to be messing with it. You wont be able to boot it unless you plug and play it to another PC or you get another bootable harddrive if you don't wanna format your current system.

when i start up.. dell thing shows up and windows XP logo doesnt show instead, a pop up said a failure something in system32/hav.lvl? i forgot what its called.

so do i restore my comp or system recovery my comp?

After that put in bootcfg /rebuild and select your main partition.

Or from the XP CD, select Enter to "install windows xp to this computer"

When it finds your XP partition, press the key to repair it. You'll keep all your settings and it'll run fine.

I just kept restarting my system... yea i did it the ghetto way but damnit it works fine now
