Ok I got a dvd with free space and i stuffed it with all my game setup files and after a few months i injected the disk again and it said to make a name then it was Dec.30/07 (as default) then all my files were gone

oh... so your computer is not reading it? if you got a cd/dvd writing drive pop it in there and see if it reads it. also maybe the stuff is set hidden in the cd or something. try this:
Open my computer>Tools>Folder Options>View>Hidden files and folders>Show hidden files and folders.

That's why I back up my stuff on CD-R and CD-RW disks. DVD-R and DVD-RW disks store information differently. It's for the same reason that booting Linux off of a DVD-R disk doesn't work.

Maby the disk is corrupt? Or the disk is scratched maby? If it is scratched try going to best-buy or some place that sells hardware items and buy (Scratch DR.) It cleans off scratches ofr your Cd's.

That or he is now reading it from a CD reading drive only, and its also possible he 'put them on' but never wrote them to the disc.

well i load CD's Like that but i don't put them back into the computer? I am stumped...
