2D game....kinda cool, thats beside the point though.
I just got into cheat engine and packet editing and all that stuff. I was wondering if someone could help me hack this game or atleast see if it's hackable. I tried cheat engine on it but it only changes the values to me, not to the game. So I busted out CSE and this is what I did.
Dropped 1 gold in game
Started recording in CSE
Picked that 1 gold up
Stopped recording
I ended up with 2 packets, one that was sent and one i received
I then tried to send the packets back again but my gold didn't increase
Remember I'm still really new to CE and CSE so I might be doing something wrong. If someone wants to help, the game is not a big download at all and as far as i know, there aren't many hackers, if any at all....so this would actually be fun if it's possible.

listen, its not always as easy to get what you want.
sometimes it includes many hours of digging around before you actually find something that you can exploit, especially with online games
theyr harder to hack for a reason, because nobody wants to play a game where EVERYBODY can walk around with millions of gold etc.
Thats why the makers program the game in a way to prevent that from happening.
Your little 2d game connects to a server,
you drop your gold and you start recording the packets.
you pick up the gold and you tell the server you want to pick up the gold.
now what happens here could be many things.
[color=indigo]- The server checks the amount of gold that lies on the ground on the x/y position you dropped it.
- The server checks if the amount of gold even exists.
- The server checks for a gold ID in the packet you sent ( which your client received from the server)
- The server and client work together with a time-frame so cheating packets would get a bit harder.[/color]
[color=orange]these are POSSIBILITIES[/color]
I won't get into detail with this because i have the feeling this is already going to spin your mind.
If you plan on hacking multiplayer games be prepared to spend many many hours to find exploits in them, and i hope you're creative as well if you even attempt to.
