Depends on the type of file you wish to play. Most trainers, keygens, patches, and so on use mini-media files such as .XM files. You can use uFMod to play them in VB. You need to edit the linker you use to compile your VB app to use the uFMod lib though. I wrote a quick tutorial on how to do it here:

If you want to play something else like MP3s and such, you will need to use something like the Windows Media object, or another custom object.
