IE7 requires service pack 2, which is probably the reason you can't get it:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/ie/sysreq.mspx

Just download and install SP2 if you don't have it, and your Windows is genuine.

Internet Explorer Sucks. I had that problem with Firefox before and it was because I was running too many programs. I suggest getting AIM 5.9 :] 6 Sucks.

I notice you have the Skype plugin also, try removing that first. My mom had that installed on her machine and she was unable to even launch Firefox due to that plugin.

Try reinstalling Firefox if that doesn't help as well.

Click on firefox.exe, go to priority and change it to low, then try to fix it.

that doesn't ever do anything for me. this happened to me a while ago with outlook express and internet explorer. you can try deleting and reinstalling the programs or you can just format and then you know you've gotten rid of the problem, or you could just system restore back until when it was working fine, always works.

just format your computer, easiest and fastest way to clean out your computer...just sometimes takes a while to get it all back to the way it was.
