Okay this might really need some hdspace as all the addresses would be saved until it's over but to my mind this might really improve the speed of finding the values you want, of course i don't know if it would really improve it as i havn't seen any ram editor supporting it yet.
The base idea is to add to the "changed value" and "unchanged value" the "value from x scans before" or something similar to that. I thought this might be usefull as, when you don't know the value and you can't even tell if the value de- or increases, a "changed value", "unchanged value" scanning becomes necessary but that often does not filter the values enough.
Small example:
1.-life : 100
real value: -354531
2.-life : 80
real value: 41231
3.-life: 100
real value: -354531
Of course we assume the value -354531 is unknown to the user (of course) and many other values change when losing life then using the value from 2 scans before to compare it might give faster results than "changed" and "unchanged" scanning as the other values that change and are unchanged shouldn't change exactly by the same number if they've got nothing to do with the value being searched for.
Just wondering : Is it like i imagine? Until now i've always seen that if the (in the example life) number you see in the game is the same again that the value in the ram is the same again as well.
I know there are too many ideas for cheat engine to ever be implemented, i basically wanted to ask if it would really be as usefull as i imagine, i am wondering because i've tried like 10 ram editors before i found CE but as far as i remember none of them had the feature so the reason must either be that it's hard to implement or really useless
Thanks for any answers that might help me stop wondering about that

Well, it's not always the same value. Civ 3 for example has multiple ways to store the amount of gold you have.
One problem is that the user would have to keep track of all his scans, and if it isn't found after 4 or 5 times, it's going to be really hard.
And yes, it'll take a lot of hard disk space to use.
Another problem would be that this would require a big change in the scan routines.
But I'll add it to my list, and experiment with it. Perhaps it'll be in cheat Engine 4.2...)
This is how I see it:
Add a scan option when doing "Unknown initial value" called "Same value as scan #"
when selected a textbox apears behind that scanoption where you can select the scan.
1=results of first scan
2=results of 1st time next scan
3=results of 2nd time next scan
4=...
and of course in the settings if you want to enable this option, else this would also require lots of harddisk space if you don't want to use it. (Although I dont think it'll take up as much as when doing a binary scan for * in a game that uses more than 500MB(50 GB) )

| Don't bother with it if it's useless. I only wanted to know why it's useless and now i know it. Thank you very much (um as always >_< i get the feeling i write too much crap here)
