I follow that tutorial and when I try to delete the partition it gives me an error saying we still need files on the partition and so I can't delete it. Can anyone help me out?
OS: XP Media Center
Disc: Media Center Disc

The way i format is quicker and easier:
download Hirens boot cd 9.3 and burn it as an image (use nero) on a CD.
now boot your pc while the Cd is inside, oh note:
if your PC doesn't boot from CD, do this:
go to bios
look somewhere for "boot options" and make the first boot device boot from Hard Drive and the second one from CD-ROM (Read-Only Memory)
now, while you're in the boot cd, choose 1 and 1 again (Partition magic pro)
and choose your harddisk you want to format (uncheck surface test, it's useless and takes 40min), the format process takes 1min, after that, reboot and re-insert your XP media center CD and install

yep, that's another nice way to do it, but you'll ve forced to reboot so it's almost the same.

it will zero your drive, not actually format it with a proper filesystem and all that.

If you still cant reformat.
use a program called
Killdisk
it deletes everything on your harddisk in a split of a second =)
