End goal: Find the memory pointer for a toons X,Y,Z location.
Current status: Can find the address itself that writes the X Location but not the pointer to that address. I get too many choices.
Steps Taken:
Find location in game
Search for that location in CE. 200 results.
Move in game and do a "Next Scan" for new location. Continue this until 25 results. Changing each of those results manually in CE until finding the good one.
This is the address that writes to the X Location.
Doing a find what writes to this address I get this far (see first screenshot)
I know that offset c4, c8, and cc are X,Y,Z locations
I know that these never change each time the game is loaded:
EDX=00392370
ESP=0012DDA8
EBP=0012E15C
EIP=004EC51A
hxxp://img266.imageshack.us/img266/3451/vgclientwz7.jpg (change to http)
I do a find for 12C14800 using hex and come up with ALL these results. Dang it.
hxxp://img526.imageshack.us/img526/6673/memoryviewergf6.jpg (change to http)
I made a few of these into pointers and then changed their values and worked fine in game. However reloading the game these so called pointers I made no longer worked. This must be one of these multi-pointer situations I'd assume but because of all the results I got, I can't seem to narrow it down and don't know what to try next.
I've also looked into code injection however my end goal is to use Visual C#. I can make a client that will change the memory location I found, but I'm not sure how to use C# and some code injection I might make in CE.
I've read many tutorials, watched the videos available, and have googled code injection, fstp, multi pointer, etc.
Thanks for any help.

The address you found, right click it and select scan for pointer.
Use Max Level of 1,2,3 - 4 and so on till you get a pointer.
Also after you did a hex scan all those you see in that list if any of them are GREEN, then that one is a static address and should work as well.
Let us know what you find.
Also, since your new please read the rules and post the name of the game and links to it as well.

Awesome, thank you for the response Labyrnth.
The game is Vanguard.
I had done a find for pointers before using max level 1-4 twice but each time stopped at 4. This time I went to 5 and got some hits.
I'll take some time and play with this new info but if you have any further info I'd appreciate it again.
None of the addresses I had found before on that list of pointers were green. All were black.

Edit: Ok, I believe I've tried all possible combinations with a set of 5 pointers. The above image shows the closest I can get. I've listed the numbers from top to bottom and bottom to top. Maybe I'm starting with the wrong address?

First step was to find the address that you can use to change your characters position in game. Hopefully you understand that. Each time the game is reloaded that particular address changes. Therefore a pointer is needed that doesn't change that writes to that address. I'm a noob as well and appreciate the help I've received so far.
Just for kicks I did a pointerscan max level of 6 today and came up with 244 results. Ouch. I'm guessing that each time you go up you get more results. So the first time I found any results with a max level 5 is where I'd want to be.
I'm still stuck trying to figure out how the multi-pointer works. I've tried many combinations but can't seem to get that elusive magical result yet.
Hopefully Labrynth of some other helpful soul will drop in.

The image is a dead link mate.
But if you found the first pointers at level 5, then you can use the first one in the list no matter how many you find.
It should be a working address.
If the pointer is changing your getting a code shift.
And that will require a little AA scripting to counter that.
