He's saying manually start the game instead of doing a vb program, as in, *double clicks game on the desktop*

If all you are doing is adding a text box without any code like you are saying it should not crash. If it is, your version of VB is probably corrupted.

If you're just adding a textbox and it's crashing, it's no horrible code mistake. Something possibly got boned, wipe it, reinstall it.

You are giving us like.. nothing to work with to even attempt to help you. You said you simply add a control and run it. Firstly, what is that going to accomplish? Nothing, the control isn't going to magically get a value. Either you aren't telling us the full story, or you simply don't have a clue of what you are talking about.

Seriously, if you want help, you gotta help us first by giving us more info then "OMDFGSjhsdjhfg IT CRASHED HELP!!!!".

I have the portable version as well as the complete Visual Studio 6, both work fine for me. Put your project folder into a zip or rar archive and attach it to a post here so we can see whats up.

Will it compile and run from outside of the IDE? If so your IDE might be corrupted in some way. I'd suggest finding the full version of VB6 if you really plan to use VB6 for other projects.
