Why would you convert a lanuage that people can put up with into a crippled scripting language? |

well you can always convert your so called "crippled scripting language" into the tolerable one
criticism of VB is often humorous, usually because the people involved use their elitist programming language for tasks that could be done easier in a rapid development language. but then when they're called on that, usually the trump is the "it takes up so much more memory and space!" - o noe my precious kb |

This can be useful for some and not to others so try not to flame a person who is simple trying to be of assistance. _________________

Defence of VB is often humorous, as the person defending it often knows no other languages and wants to protect their poor choice. |

i don't code visual basic, i'm just not an idiot. what have you done that could not been easily remade in visual basic in a fraction of the time?
in fact, i wouldn't be surprised if most C# programmers here just code in VB then convert it to C# to look intelligent |

If you don't use it, then don't preach to me about it. Besides, there is this language called Delphi that can do the same thing, with less overhead. |

Just because the IDE uses more RAM doesn't mean the program does. Don`t be ignorant.
P.S. I typed this from my Wii. =p |

Your ignorance on the subject stuns me. Who gives a shit about how much RAM the IDE uses? What matters is the overhead the compiler generates because of the language used. VB apps have more overhead than Delphi apps. |

I'd say VB is better documented and it's obviously easier to learn. If you want to speed up your apps your going to move to C, not delphi. |
