Is basic easier or harder to code than asm?

it looks like a variant of basic instead of basic:

in true basic, assigning a value is "let Q = 0"; "Q=Q+1"

and uh so BASIC knowledge wouldnt help much there. syntax changed too much

It's not really, Basic, but rather a variation named TI-Basic.

For programming on a TI 83/84, it's better to just use ASM. TI 83/84 uses a Z80 chip. Programming in TI-Basic on TI's small keypad is a pain.

TI-Basic programs run terribly slow because it's interpreted on a 6MHz CPU. Only ASM programs get you reasonable speed.

I tried using my 'asmprogram' command.
I do know some assembly, but trying to learn this variant of basic.
I did manage to make it, but i had to change batteries, and got deleted.
Maybe ill type in the code when i figure it out again.
Would anyone here say basic is easier to program than asm?
speaking out of calc world, i mean.
Is there an assembler for basic like there is MASM32 for asm?

Ive been looking at my manual.
I can't figure out how to write in asm.
WOuld the calculator recognize asm commands anyway?
