Notepad++ is one of those programs that you won't like unless you endlessly tweak the configurations until it's comfortable, I don't like it for that reason. I especially don't like how it re-opens all the files you opened before closing the next time you start it up. This is NOT behavior you come to expect from notepad.

true it tends to get annoying

but it can still be useful from time to time

I love Notepad++, great tool. Been using it for a while. Like any other program, it takes time to get used to, and everything is configurable.

As for disabling reopening of documents from a previous session:
Goto Settings -> Preferences, click the MISC tab, uncheck 'Remember the current session for next launch'.

Not that hard to disable.

Do I recall correctly if I say that Notepad++ doesn't support intellisense/anything similar without tweaking a lot?

I think that was the reason why I didn't start using Notepad++. I know, I'm lazy :D

Yes it does, it's not fully complete like in an IDE for programming (since you shouldn't be using Notepad++ for an alternative from an IDE..) but it does have a small amount of things.

To access the intellisense, just tap CTRL+SPACE.
