Cheat Engine

I have a few questions. I have had this program for a while but don't use it that often. I have wanted to make a couple trainers for a long time and I have a couple of questions. I am new so if they are noob questions, sorry.

1. First of all, I wanted to make trainer for Half Life 2: Episode 1. When I search ammo, health, or armour, NOTHING pops up. I've tried Float and 4 bit. I get a couple, then after I try to limit it down nothing is even close to the actual number, or it keeps changing.

Also, I wanted to freeze the battery or sprint power which is in 11 bars. I tried float in unknown value, but I don't think a super PC could that lol! So, I tried Less than 100 and got over 60 million, when going down I got 0...

2. Another question is pointers. I don't get them... you find the value by searching and why can't you just use that? Why does it change? I know basily how to find pointers but I can never succeed.

If someone needs some screenshots of the game I can do that. But if someone can help me out through MSN that would be cool.

Ugh, what do I do with this lol.

click the memory view button in cheat engines main window,

then in the memory viewer window click on tools,

then from the drop down menu click auto assemble,

copy and paste dark bytes cheat code into the auto assemble window,

you can save it from the file menu ,

you can also use the template option, for example you can use the cheat engine table framework code template,,, then from the cheat table you can make it into a stand alone trainer,

when you use the cheat table template the entry that you see in the table just looks like a single entry , then when you tick the box to enable the cheat it writes your code to the game, when you untick the cheat the original code is written back into the game, clever ehh,

Umm ok thanks. Just another thing that's been asked many times but I still dont 100$ get. Pointers...what exaclty are they..like whhy when I reboot game my trainer doesnt work, and sometimes something does..
