ok so i went to my dads house and found out that his got vb6 so i put Microsoft Visual Studio ob my USB then onto my laptop then open VB6.exeso which is in the folder of VB98 then it says Unexpected error; qutting and i can click ok or help. so then i uploaded it on rapidshare and took it off this laptop same error if somebody could fix this error they will get VB6 (the 1 that has errors) but only 1 of you get it and that 1 of you will be the first 1 to FIX my problem thanks +rep 2 2nd person

Am I understanding this correctly? You realized your dad had VB6 so you copied the VB folder on his computer where it was installed, onto a USB device (HD or Flash Drive). Then you copied it to your laptop, and tried to run it?

If this is the case it will not work, not only does VB require some entries in the registry that it puts there while you are installing from the CD, but it also installs files into the C:\Windows directory. Just ask your dad if he has the CD and borrow that.

Alternatively, you could download VB8 (2005 Express) from Microsoft. It's completely free for hobbyists or students.

link please i g2g sleep now + my dad ok doesnt no sht bout comps he doesnt even no how to delete something when i told him u got VB6 he said wahts that? and im like dw

VB.net will run off the .net runtime, just FYI, and such require people to have the framework. (which shouldn't be a problem really)

Get the Visual Studio 2008 beta + C# = win.
