i use macromedia freehand thats good for me just want to noe how goods is ILL CS2, Corel Draw, and those other vector programs

gimp is cool, NO MATTER HOW YOU LOOK AT IT

For a vector program that is quite powerful and has a low learning curve I recommend Xara Xtreme Pro. If you need more power I guess you could go with the industry standard Adobe Illustrator (just my guesstimate, since I've never used Illustrator before).

On a related note, the best raster/bitmap/pixel program I've ever used was Autodesk Animator Studio 1.5 (windows), I have yet to see anything as easy to use or as powerful as that program. Cosmigo Pro Motion and Graphics Gale don't even come close to that program's awesomeness. Too bad you can't use AAS anymore cause it has all kinds of problems running under XP/Vista/Win7 Crying or Very sad

I use graphics gale because you get everything in the free version and its easy to use.

Its only 1.5 % more powerful than ms paint though.
